…It just makes me a LITTLE nervous – I mean, what if they are in a hurry and just want you to get in and out?

Great point. But even in that small amount of time, I think it’s important that there be a real connection between two people. People want to work with people they know and trust. Give the CD a moment to get to know YOU, and then allow them to trust YOU by saying the two lines.
I see this in every workshop I work. Those actors that come in and take a moment to connect with the CD as a person, then do their scene – are almost always more memorable than those that just come in and give a good read.
